Did I do the right thing?

I dated this guy and I fell in love with him, head over heels. However, I found out that he was purchasing drugs (b/c he used my laptop) and tried talking to him about it. He went to get counseling and promised me he was done. Throughout this process I found several more e-mails about him purchasing drugs (narcotics, pain pills, etc.) and finally I just snapped. I broke up with him because I couldn't take it anymore. He claims that if I really loved him I wouldn't have broken up with him and he swears that he doesn't have a drug problem. But if he doesn't have a drug problem, then why all the emails trying to purchase them?! He makes me feel like I'm crazy for saying he has a drug problem. Anyways...did I do the right thing in breaking up with him or did I do the wrong thing? Should I have stayed with him? Now he won't talk to me at all and wants nothing to do with me.
