Is the weather in Southern California similar to South Florida?
Southern California is much drier than Florida. It's a desert heat that stays below 50% humidity for the most part. And, during particularly dry spells, it can get down to below 10% humidity. The Southern California climate is described as being Mediterranean, like Spain or Italy. But, the Florida climate is tropical, like the Caribbean. There's also a wide variety of microclimates in Southern California, whether it's a coastal climate near the ocean, a desert climate inland, a mountainous climate in the local mountains, etc. Florida is flat and pretty much the same across the whole state, although South Florida around Miami is very tropical.
